LP REDESIGN
OBJECTIVE
Redesign an LP for an album using photography and type based off of the album’s themes and title.
I chose to redesign Tapestry︎︎︎ by Carole King︎︎︎
CONCEPT
Tapestry is an album that explores self-discovery, liberation, relationships, nostalgia, and independence.
I started by generating some words and phrases that I associate with the album. I also
spent some time in depth listening to the album, and pulled out a few lyrics that guided
my photography process. I then pulled some images into a mood board that communicated the themes of the album.

IMAGES
This is a small snippet of my photos taken for the covers of the LP. I focused on representing the concept of a tapestry, while communicating the feelings and themes of the album. I chose to hang the “tapestry” on a clothesline as reference to how the album is rooted in real, day-to-day life.
FINALS
In my final images, I focused on the lyric “tapestry to feel and see, impossible to hold”.
In the front image, she feels as though as she is getting lost in the tapestry, while in the back image she appears to have control of the tapestry, relating to themes in the album of finding yourself and gaining control over your life.
